I’m so excited to announce an online store on the horizon! My sister and I owned a functional pottery gallery in Old Town, Albuquerque, named de Galvan Gallery, almost 20 years ago. Wow does time fly! We eventually closed it to accommodate personal goals, like get married, work to have a baby, and buy a home, to name a few! But I loved every second of our time owning our store and have dreamed of opening an online store ever since.

My dad has spent over 20 years researching our family’s genealogy. (He was the vice president of the Hispanic Genealogical Society of NM for a period of time.) He discovered that we are the descendants of the founding fathers of NM, who colonized in 1598. So, when he offered to fund an opportunity for us to open a store in Old Town, Albuquerque, where our founding fathers inhabited, we jumped at the chance.

We opened the store at a time when home decor shows on tv were all the rage, and home renovation and decor was on the uptick. We did not want to cater specifically to the tourist with “touristy” items, but rather, stoneware pottery that was beautiful and functional, that could be used, washed, and then displayed beautifully on the countertop or hutch. We set out to find potters throughout the southwest. The pottery we sold was beautifully glazed, lead free, dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe, and hand made by seasoned artisans.

Batter bowls:

One of our biggest sellers were the batter bowls. We absolutely loved these and still use them in our own homes. We could literally not keep these in stock. These are so fun because they are the right size for a batch of batter, or eggs, and come with a whisk. They look adorable wherever they are displayed.

Nacho plate:

Nacho Plate: $25 + Shipping

I have called this a nacho plate, but it can be used to make personal enchiladas, hold a stack of mini flour tortillas, or a cheeseball. It can go from oven to table and look beautiful in the process. Love this!!

Casserole dish:

Casserole Dish: $30 + Shipping

This can be used for casseroles, fondues, or stews. Again, it is perfect for oven to table. I especially love it for my red chile pasta. Yummy!
