I am proud to announce my affiliation with eXp Realty, having recently joined the firm as a real estate associate broker. Following is a brief summary of my background. My ancestors came to The Kingdom New Mexico in 1598 with the expedition of don Juan de Oñate, making me a fourteenth generation descendant of the founding families of this great state. I was born in Las Cruces, reared in Albuquerque, resided in Río Rancho, and currently live in Bernalillo with my husband Joe. As you can see, I am a daughter of New Mexico, tried and true!
I attended NMSU, and then UNM, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology. I subsequently received a Master’s Degree in Special Education from UNM along with my teaching license. My inspiration to become a special education teacher, and eventually a special needs administrator, came from my younger brother Mark who was afflicted with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a disease that eventually took his life. My goal was to help kids like him live a normal and productive life. Over a career that spanned more than twenty-five years, I believe I succeeded, having taught many students with disabilities throughout the state of New Mexico, some with highly specialized needs. Included in my charge were various levels of gifted students. This past summer was my last year teaching school. My sister Cathy Jones and I are also former owners of de Galván Gallery in Old Town Albuquerque, a shop that specialized in high-end cooking pottery.
I am excited to serve you, the people of New Mexico, in my new capacity as a real estate agent. I look forward to helping you find your dream home, sell your existing home, or become first-time homeowners. My many years as an educator and business owner have provided me with a unique set of qualifications to assist you in meeting your real estate needs. I know how to work with people, find the perfect home, close the deal, and perform the numerous administrative functions required to buy or sell a home. Further, I am a woman of excellence and high integrity, with a sense of humor.
